A common theme here is that in no instance does the Hero seek violence for its own sake, and therefore the violence never becomes gratuitous. Remember that the Hero rides in from Nowhere, he has no Past, he Vanquishes Evil and rides off again to Nowhere. This is God made man. to do one last job. And to do that one last job, both Christ and the Hero (in this case Clint) must Re incarnate and take on their Past once again. When the job is done they “ride off into the sunset”, or Ascend into Heaven, as the case may be, and they each leave behind two women as testimony to their human ness. It is set in the Ancient Desert and the story takes up where the salesman is banished from his community and forced to live and survive in the hostile desert. And in this desert he learns the most important Secret of them all.
